CHATEAU
BELLES-GRAVES
Lalande-de-Pomerol
Bordeaux, France
Varietals:
Bordeaux Blend
Tasting Notes:
Chateau Belles-Graves is a great value Bordeaux; it is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot and displays wonderful aromas of earth and minerals. Cabernet Franc has soft, smooth tannins and the palate reveals red cherry flavors with young plum with hints of cocoa, smoke and damp earth. Drink it over the next decade and enjoy with your favorite meat dishes, fowl, cheese and grilled fish.

Chateau Belles-Graves
Another Great Bordeaux From A Fantastic Vintage
— LIMITED AVAILABILITY —
($33.85 per bottle / $406.20 per case) This past October we featured the 2003 Chateau Clarke, a wine Robert Parker called a "sleeper" of the vintage and a wine that was one of our top three selling wines of 2007. Constantly looking for great value Bordeaux, we have found another sleeper equally as compelling as the Chateau Clarke, the 2003 Chateau Belles-Graves.
The most notable distinction between these two delicious wines is that the Clarke is a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot blend and the Belles-Graves is a Cabernet Franc, Merlot blend. The presence of Cabernet Franc in the Belles-Graves throws off wonderful earthy, mineral aromas producing a wine with a classic Bordeaux profile. The Cabernet Franc also has softer tannins and is a touch smoother than the Clarke. On the palate, the wine displays red cherry flavors and young plum with hints of cocoa, smoke, and damp earth. Velvety smooth tannins are complimented by an equally smooth finish. If you like a fuller bodied Bordeaux, we still highly recommend the 2003 Chateau Clarke (see below) as a great value. But if you like your wines incredibly smooth and with very mild tannins, we highly recommend the Chateau Belles-Graves.
Drink the Belles-Graves over the next decade and enjoy with cheeses, meats, fowl, and grilled fish. Enjoy! Order Here.
