FINCA SANDOVAL
Manchuela, Spain
Varietals:
Syrah and Mourvedre Blend
[94 pts Robert Parker]
[Only 425 Cases Imported]
Tasting Notes:
Dark violet in color. Inky, powerful, brooding nose opens slowly to show sexy, intense floral and oak spice notes of cassis, blackberry and cherry. Wonderfully perfumed and exotic, with strong minerals accenting the deep dark fruit flavors; complementary notes of bitter chocolate, violet and cola. This would be a great ringer in a tasting of big-time and far more expensive Rhone wines. Enjoyable now, this wine has five years worth of aging if you can resist. Pair with steak, lamb and grilled foods of any kind. Enjoy!

Finca Sandoval
Chateauneuf Bloodline, Spanish Heart
— LIMITED QUANTITIES —
($42.85 per bottle / $514.20 per case) Recently, Robert Parker released his annual review of Spanish wines. Many of our past favorites scored big for the third year in a row solidifying Spain as a major producer of quality wine.
This year we are returning to one of our favorite Spanish superstars, the 2005 Finca Sandoval, because the wine is simply too good not to talk about. This is the second year in a row the wine has received 94 points from The Wine Advocate, but more importantly, it is the second year in a row that the wine tastes great! Too many times have we been disappointed with wines that do not live up to their press. But not here.
Finca Sandoval reveals its pedigree and quality the moment you pour it into your glass - the original Syrah clippings come from Chateau de Beaucastel, one of the oldest and most respected Chateauneuf-du-Pape producers. Wonderfully perfumed and exotic, this Spanish red has strong minerality - that speaks of the limestone rich soil - accenting the deep dark fruit flavors; complementary notes of bitter chocolate, violet and cola reveal themselves on the long, lasting finish. Finca Sandoval finishes with superb intensity, sweetness, clarity and length, with additional lingering notes of graphite and exotic spices.
Finca Sandoval is a must have for Spanish and Rhone wine enthusiast, or any full bodied wine lover. This would be a great ringer in a tasting of big-time and far more expensive Rhone wines. Enjoyable now, this wine has five years worth of aging if you can resist. Pair with steak, lamb and grilled foods of any kind. Enjoy! Order Here.
