Bruno Giacosa

Roero Arneis

Casa Vinicola

Piedmont, Italy

Varietal: Arneis

Tasting Notes:

This stunning white is made from 100% Arneis and vinified in stainless steel. The nose reveals subtle aromas of apple, pear and peach. This is a refreshing white wine with lasting acidity on the finish. Enjoy all year round, but in particular Spring and Summer with a wide variety of foods, especially seafood and light pasta.

Bruno Giacosa, Roero Arneis
Spring Is In The Air, Giacosa Is In Your Glass

— LIMITED QUANTITIES —

($32.75 per bottle / $393.00 per case) "The brilliant Bruno Giacosa fashions the finest Arneis in Piedmont.....this is my favorite white wine of Piedmont." Robert Parker. And what a coincidence, this is our favorite Italian white as well. This wine is released once a year in the Spring and is limited in quantity. Most importantly, it is delicious and the consistency is bar none. The 2006, 2005 and 2004 vintages received 91, 93 and 90 points respectively from Robert Parker. The 2007 vintage - not yet rated - is as good and better.
Arneis, a white grape varietal from Piedmont is a temperamental grape. Arneis translates into difficult or stubborn and was given this name due to its delicate skin and unpredictable nature. But when the conditions are right and a producer - like Giacosa - handles the vinification properly, look out!
Unoaked, this wine has a natural creamy weight and texture about it that rivals many white Burgundies. The acidity is crisp and refreshing and despite being stainless steel fermented, the wine has depth and character that makes it stand out as one of our favorite versatile white wines. Don't over chill this little treasure as you'll "chill out" the subtle nuances and refreshing acidity. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes before serving so the true flavor profiles can express themselves. Enjoy with fish, chicken, or light pasta dishes. Order Here.
