Hall Wines

Napa, California

Varietals:
100% Sauvignon Blanc

- 90 pts Wine Enthusiast -

Tasting Notes:

Bright and dry, Hall Sauvignon Blanc has great acidic structure which is a Sauvignon Blanc's first duty. The wine has a refreshing tartness, relieved by rich lime zest and green apple flavors, with a scour of young pink grapefruit. With no oak at all and 100% stainless steel fermented, this white wine is one classy sipper. Enjoy with seafood of any kind or on its own on a warm summer day.

Hall Sauvignon Blanc
The Essence of California Sauvignon Blanc

— LIMITED QUANTITIES

[$18.25 per bottle/$219.00 per case] Every Friday at dawn during the summer a Farmer's Market sets up around the corner from our store. We make an effort to get there early to get the best selection of fresh vegetables and fruit - not to mention their fresh baked oatmeal cookies with dark chocolate chunks - to enjoy with our friends and family over the weekend. We love to marry the farm fresh vegetables and accompanying light summer meals with the 2005 Hall Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley, an unoaked California white. Since this refreshing beauty is 100% stainless steel fermented and not masked by any oak, it reveals the essence of Sauvignon Blanc: a bright, refreshing wine with great acidity. Typically, premium California producers, such as Cakebread and Duckhorn, can achieve these types of results but at a significantly higher price and tend to add a touch of oak.
Hall's Sauvignon Blanc has been crafted from three premier Napa Valley vineyards that lend distinctive expressions of the varietal by offering aromas of passion fruit, pear blossom, and zesty citrus. Young ruby red grapefruit leaps from the glass and continues through the lengthy palate, framed by a lively acidity that delivers a clean crisp finish that lasts and lasts. Feel free to pair with simply prepared grilled fish or fowl; however, this wine really shines when washing down oysters, scallops, and shrimp. And while we wouldn't eat fresh oatmeal chocolate chunk cookies with Sauvignon Blanc, we would after - if you can get to the Farmer's Market before us, you are in for a special treat for dessert.
