On that night, I enjoyed it with antipasto and wedges of parmigiano cheese; last night it was with grilled swordfish and juliane vegetables. From that year to this, I am always amazed at how versatile and nuanced this sub-twenty dollar white reveals qualities that are typically found in wines twice its price.
     Year after year, Terre di Tufi displays great consistency and year after year it's my go-to white wine for almost any occasion.
     Terre di Tufi is a beautiful blend of Chardonnay and Vernaccia from the hills of Tuscany, and more specifically the famous town of San Gimignano. Straw yellow in color, it is an elegant wine with a refreshing mineral base. With notes of young apple, peach and pineapple, it's full bodied with a pleasant yet subtle toasty almond finish. The Vernaccia offsets the ripe Chardonnay fruit with a youthful and well-balanced acidity and brightness that, especially in the 2005 vintage, makes this Terre di Tufi one of the most enjoyable in recent years (and that says a lot given its consistency).
