ANANDA DI
TOSCANA
Tuscany, Italy
Varietals:
Sangiovese (60%)
Merlot (40%)
Tasting Notes:
Chianti meets Bordeaux when drinking this Super Tuscan. Ananda has a deep, intense ruby red color with complex aromatics that unfold to reveal elegant notes of black cherry and violets to aromas of cocoa, fine leather, cloves and coffee. On the palate it is well balanced with very nice acidity and ripe fruit and mature tannins that are sweet, soft and velvety. The wine has very good length, both on the nose and on the palate. It is substantial and complex with good structure and body. Enjoy now and over the next 7-10 years. A perfect match with grilled foods and rich pasta dishes.

Ananda Di Toscana
Tignanello And Sassicaia Fans Rejoice!
— LIMITED QUANTITIES —
[$30.75 per bottle / $369.00 per case] It's not everyday you get a wine at this price with the pedigree behind the 2001 Ananda di Toscana. This Super Tuscan is made by Alberto Antonini who is the father of Super Tuscans and the original winemaker for Antinori's world famous Tignanello and Solaia.
Super Tuscans are any Tuscan red wines that do not adhere to the traditional blending laws of the region. They typically add Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Merlot to the primary red varietal of the region, Sangiovese. Ananda is a blend of Sangiovese (60%) and Merlot (40%); it is only made in good vintages - such as 2001, a spectacular vintage in Italy - and is made to deliver the elegance of Bordeaux with the heart and soul of Tuscany. Only 1,500 cases of this little gem are made for the entire world and it has every bit the depth and character of its Antinori counterpart but at a fraction of the price.
We first tasted this wine several months ago and knew we would feature it as soon as there was a chill in the evenings and here's why: Deep, intense ruby red color are supported by aromatics that reveal elegant notes of black cherry and violets to aromas of cocoa, fine leather, cloves and coffee. On the palate it is balanced with great acidity and ripe fruit. Its tannins are present but they are sweet, soft and velvety making this Tuscan red complex with nice structure, but not over-the-top. Chianti meets Bordeaux when drinking this red. Enjoy not only with steak, but with meatballs and spaghetti, lasagna, and cheese. Enjoy! Order Here
