    Daniel Barraud's family has been producing wines in Alliance-Vergisson (a village in Pouilly- Fuisse) since the 1800's. The 2006 Alliance-Vergisson displays a richness and minerality typically found in appellations such as Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-
Montrachet "surpassing the finest offerings of the Cote de Beaune's Grand Cru vineyards." (The Wine Advocate) A richness and luscious texture characterize this Burgundian white like no other. The nose abounds with fresh fruit aromas of ripe citrus notes. Flinty accents are a byproduct of the alkaline clay soil - perfect conditions for Chardonnay. Intense and long lived acidity are underscored by hints of pear butter and peach butter with white pepper and flowers on the finish.
