[94 pts Steven Tanzer] Bright, deep ruby. Sexy, Cote-Rotie-like aromas of black raspberry, bacon fat, brown spices and black pepper. Lush, sweet and broad, with lively ripe acidity framing the deep flavors of blueberry, pepper and spices. Finishes chewy, tactile and long, with substantial dusty tannins. A fascinating syrah, from a vineyard planted in 1998 at a very dense meter-by-meter spacing.
