Chateau Leoville Barton is the wine that made me fall in love with red Bordeaux. I always enjoyed good Bordeaux, but there is something about the earthy, textured, nuanced and gracefully, rich palate of Leoville Barton that makes this Chateau a standout.
** This Snowstorm Special will increase in price to $149.95 after 24 hours. Given the storm, we didn't have time to photograph this beauty as we typically do. Nevertheless, it is shipping this Thursday and coming to us in original wooden crates. It is a trophy for both your palate and cellar! **
This particular knockout vintage of Chateau Leoville Barton is riddled with superb accolades: 1) 98 points from Wine Enthusiast and a "Cellar Selection;" 2) Wine Spectator gave it 95 points and made it the #6 of the Top 100 wines in 2012 (and since then even better with more bottle age); and 3) 96 points from James Suckling.
When you try it, you'll understand why it is such a sensation: It has a hint of earth and cigar box. The wine reveals tremendous richness with a broad, savory mouthfeel with a "polished feel to the fresh plum, warm blackberry sauce, bittersweet ganache and roasted apple wood notes. Long and tarry through the finish, but still invigorating despite its heft." Wine Spectator
This is a blockbuster vintage...and an even better wine!
