Just off the coast of Tuscany is Giglio, a beautiful island which is part of the Tuscan archipelago. If you love seafood and coastal cuisine, you will not want to miss this exceptional Italian white from "one of Italy's finest" Super Tuscan producers. (Robert Parker)
His 2009 Cicala del Giglio is a fantastic Ansonica (the local name for Inzolia) which is known for its 'Sauvignon Blanc meets Chardonnay' characteristics. In only his second vintage, Bibi Graetz has managed to master this nimble white in addition to his multiple blockbuster Super Tuscan reds.
His 2009 Cicala del Giglio produces exotic notes of white almond, citrus fruits and fresh herbs. Wild flower aromas are also present followed by hints of young pineapple and ripe tropical fruit.
If you love seafood and can't get enough of coastal cuisine, then you won't want to pass on this phenomenal Tuscan white. Enjoy!
