“The 2nd wine of Pichon Baron, Les Tourelles de Longueville, is the best second effort that I have tasted from this estate. The wine is very seductive with loads of black fruits, an almost caramelized note, low acidity and voluptuous texture. The strong dollar makes this particular stellar vintage even MORE attractive to us. For years Bordeaux prices were a tad pricey relative to other Cabernet based reds from around the world. However, we are seeing these prices soften and with that Les Tourelles de Longeuville caught our eye - and palates - as a great value.
"Aromas of blueberries and spices with lots of fresh flowers. Full body, with a beautiful core of ripe fruit that balances beautifully with the tannins and bright acidity. A wine for the future yet so enjoyable now. Second wine of Pichon Baron."
James Suckling
With the primary wine, Chateau Pichon Baron, fetching in excess of $160 per bottle, and with the amazing 2010 vintage raising the bar on all Bordeaux that year, we can't think of a better red to transition from the Summer to Falls months. Enjoy!
