Please note, other's claim to have this library release of the 2011 Chateau Potensac - we actually do!
We tasted the 2011 Chateau Potensac a few years ago when it was first released. It was nice then - quite nice actually, but it was a little young at the time.
Fast forward to today and with six years of age, time has treated this beautiful Bordeaux quite well! Today, the 2011 Chateau Potensac is an impressive Bordeaux with layers of fruit and a lovely sense of terroir.
It is amazing how a little bottle age allows a Bordeaux to blossom. Time has softened the tannins and given the fruit an integrated array of earth and spice along with a touch of herbaceousness. The once young dark fruit has been replaced by a bit more red-brick hues. This little beauty has bloomed into a classic Bordeaux: plummy red fruit, cassis, dried spices, and snapped tree bark aromas. On the palate, you will marvel at the delicate notes of violet, cedar and mild oak that wrap the core of berries. Enjoy now and/or consume at your leisure over the next 4-5 years.
It was a "sleeper" years ago, today it is a shining star!
Chateau Potensac is owned by Leoville Las Cases; it is their property in the Medoc region of Bordeaux.
