THE REVIEW

Rhone reds from the highly acclaimed 2007 vintage are a rare and wonderful combination of ruggedly structured, but completely buffered ripe, savory fruit allowing for both early drinking and aging. From this stellar vintage is a great value that embodies these ideal qualities, the 2007 Domaine La Bouissiere, Gigondas.
Gigondas is an appellation within the Rhone. There, Domaine La Bouissiere is located high on the slopes of the gorgeous Dentelles de Montmirail, where the intense southern sun is ameliorated by altitude and wind. This mountainous terroir with demanding soils of limestone and clay yields wines with great concentration, freshness and amazing depth.
Saturated deep red in color, this Rhone masterpiece is smoky and lush on the nose, with aromas of sweet red berries and cherry complemented by rose, garrigue and roasted coffee. On the palate, the wine boasts excellent energy and precise red berry fruit flavors with hints of spice that linger enjoyably.
Delightfully drinkable now, the strength of the vintage and the balanced tannins will allow Bouissiere's Gigondas to age majestically for years to come. Pair with lamb, steak, roasted chicken, a meaty pasta dish and cheese. Enjoy! Read More »
