The vineyards entitled to the Cote de Brouilly appellation are encircled by those of Brouilly. They are entirely on the slope of the summit of Mont Brouilly, an extinct volcano, whose hard soil accounts for the wine's intense character and aging potential. This cru is flowery but firm with notes of pepper and mineral.
