This is one of our finest Barolo offerings of the year! Within the Bussia sub-region of Barolo, a hilly and minuscule five hectares has produced one of the most compelling Barolos of the 2013 vintage.
Not only did this wine receive 98 points from Wine Enthusiast, but it was also chosen for their "Cellar Selection" and ultimately awarded #21 on their Top 100 List of 2017.
Here is what we love about this wine:
Balsamic aromas with dried rose petals - the initial aromas are intoxicating!
Wild cherry and baking spice intermingle with fresh cut leather, cedar, clove, and hazelnut - these secondary elements will overwhelm you!
Subtle notes of plum fresh leaf tobacco and raspberry tart are framed by robust tannins that offer terrific grip and balance to the fruit - the flavors last for minutes!
Let it breath if you are going to enjoy this big-time Barolo now...twenty to thirty minutes should do. However, be sure to set some down in your cellar and watch it evolve with amazement.
You might find a Barolo of comparable quality, but it will be north of $100.
