Press and Tasting Notes

[94 pts Robert Parkert] "The 2013 Chardonnay was aged for 19 months in 80% new French oak but never reveals that it spent that length of time in so much oak. THE REVIEW

Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay is one of the best kept secrets in California. The wine "reveals a Batard-Montrachet-like richness and hazelnut creaminess." Robert Parker
The 2014 West Napa earthquake and looming drought could not derail this stunning harvest.
You may recognize the "Hudson Vineyards" designation on labels of some of the finest California whites. That's because Hudson Vineyards sells its grapes to a "who's who" roster such as Kistler, Kongsgaard, Ramey, Cakebread and Plumpjack to name a few. That's an impressive resume for some of the most coveted fruit in all of California.
Hudson's 2013 Chardonnay is sensational and offers richness and depth balanced by Burgundian acidity and minerality - a perfect combination. Specifically, here is what we love about this white:
Golden hues hold exotic aromatics of ginger, allspice, and tarragon. The wine has a fresh palate with mid-weight that is marked by a saline quality which is classic Hudson. Flavors consist of pain grille, roasted corn, macadamia nuts and salt. For a wine of this size it is quite tactile and minerally.
A lush Chardonnay can make all the difference when paired with your favorite winter delicacies!Read More »
