Press and Tasting Notes

[99 pts Luca Maroni] "From the top grapes selected for the primary Ruche wine. Amazing grace of strawberry and raspberry scents and taste goes to a sublime body and core of black currants. Laccento increases in volume of masculinity and aroma, which in no way detract from the wonderful density of the fruit and berries. Balance of flavors ... Read More »

THE REVIEW

We just received a second allocation! As long as we have inventory, we will be offering this 99 point Italian treasure at a staggering 28 bucks! Others claim to have the vintage, but few if any have the wine. We have cases and they are shipping tomorrow!
Having a barbecue? Laccento is your answer. Having dinner with the boss? You guessed it, Laccento. Having grilled salmon, roasted chicken, fillet mignon or simply charcuterie? Laccento. Having a few friends over who always seem to show-off their prized Barolos and Barbarescos? Throw down a bottle of Laccento and smile knowing it costs as much as their corks!
Ruche is the smallest production Italian red wine in all of Italy. The best way to describe Ruche, a Piedmont grape, is to imagine it as the love-child between Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir. And, like the Ar.Pe.Pe. we featured yesterday and perfect for this time of year, Ruche has the finesse of Pinot Noir and the structure of Nebbiolo. However, its distinct finish can only come from Piedmont, which is what gives this Ruche its panache.

Increases in volume of masculinity and aroma, which in no way detract from the wonderful density of the fruit and berries. Balance of flavors are accented by salinity and minerals. A wine whose instantaneous and universal pleasure first is the result of nature and age-old technique of perfect winemaking." Luca Maroni
There is never a bad time to reach for this wonderfully aromatic and versatile Ruche, which offers excellence for pennies on the dollar.
