Big Table Farm is just too good not to feature for a third year in row! In 2014 and 2015, it was our "Pinot Pick Of The Year." Though Le Cadeau eked out first place this year, Big Table Farm is so good, it deserves its own feature as it was nearly selected as the winner again!
For starters, 2014 was a sensational vintage in the Willamette Valley; this ideal growing season has raised the bar for all wines in the region.
Second, two guys, a tractor, and farm-to-table practices are the foundation of this ecosystem - only growing what they eat and drink. With so much demand from locals in "the know," barely any makes it out of Oregon. And when it does, it can only be found at some of the finest restaurants.
With an ever-expanding and loyal fan base, we have sold-out of this artisanal Pinot in each of the past two years we featured it. So little is made, we hoard it throughout the year in order to have enough to feature it nationally. If you love Pinot Noir, please don't wait as this wine is certain to sell out again like years past.
Wine Spectator has singled out Big Table Farm as "a name to know" in Oregon. The wine is as pure and elegant as it gets rivaling some of the best red Burgundies. Their simple and elegant philosophy translates into everything they do: from the wine, the harvesting and even the label. Aromas of cherry pie, wild strawberries, raspberry, pomegranate and fresh cranberry. Oak spice, sandalwood, and vanilla add complexity to the palate. Juicy, ripe tannins add a complementary texture and dimension. Truly exceptional! Read More »
