THE REVIEW

In a new email series we're calling "A Little Tuscany For Your Table," every month we will be featuring exceptional Tuscan wines that are under $20 and more elegant and nuanced than their price would suggest.
This month, we are pleased to feature the new vintage of Ciacci's Super Tuscan field blend, Toscana Rosso. Ciacci Piccolomini is recognized as one of the finest Brunello producers in Montalcino. Like many Brunello producers, Ciacci blends younger Sangiovese grapes with other varietals (thus the Super Tuscan nomenclature) for a vibrant and approachable red to be enjoyed while the winery's hearty Brunello di Montalcinos are aging. Today's "Little Tuscany For Your Table" is a delicious blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.
This Italian gem can be enjoyed now and cellared for up to 3 years. Juicy, soft and balanced, the wine has bright acidity, which is great for pairing with tomato-based cuisine. The acidity is offset by dark cherry fruit, light herbal accents and enriched by hints of spice. It is full-bodied, yet soft on entry with a classic Tuscan finish of dry minerality.
We have only 20 cases of this wine with 20 more arriving from Italy the first week in March. Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Enjoy as an everyday red with hard cheeses (like Parmigiano). It is particularly at home when paired with tomato sauce based pastas, pizza, lasagna and hard salami. Read More »
