A Merchant's Pick

It's just soooo good! Without getting too geeky, this white Burgundy is made from grapes grown in the prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin region, a region dominated by red grapes (Pinot Noir).
So what does that mean for your palate? A Chardonnay experience like no other, that's what!
Nestled in the Canton of Gevrey Chambertin, the mineral rich terroir provides a golden, rich Chardonnay. Textured and lush - but every bit a Burgundy - it is an ideal wine to have on hand for the upcoming season.
The 2012 vintage was especially good for the region. Capricious conditions ended with ideal weather just before the harvest, producing a magnificent crop with low volumes. As a result, the vintage is not only rare in quantity but is exceptional in quality. With only 1200 bottles of the 2012 Bourgogne Blanc produced, supplies of this wine are limited.
Gallois' Bourgogne Blanc offers wonderful balance between orchard fruit (baked apples) and citrus crispness. The mouth is full and round, balanced by a fine and persistent minerality. While it is delicious now, given time, the wine will further evolve.
Wonderful to drink as an aperitif with baked hors d’oeuvres and charcuterie, you can certainly pair with fish in a savory buerre blanc or with seasonally roasted chicken and vegetables. Enjoy!Read More »
