One glass is simply not enough of this 1er Cru Chassagne-Montrachet. Few places on earth reveal such expressive terroir as the Burgundy region of Chassagne-Montrachet. This particular 1er Cru has so much grace and elegance, "you will find yourself wanting another sip." The Wine Advocate
For years Domaine Heitz-Lochardet sold its fruit to the likes of Ballot-Millot, Bachelet-Ramonet and Joseph Drouhin. These premier producers bottled Heitz-Lochardet's fruit under several of their own labels.
In the past few years, however, Domaine Lochardet has been making their own wines under their own label from these highly sought after grapes - and the wines are stunning!
From a classic white Burgundy vintage, the 2014 Domaine Heitz-Lochardet 1er Cru La Maltroie Chassagne-Montrachet shows white peach, pear and lemon. The wine is complex and nuanced from whole cluster fermentation - a nod to old-school Burgundy practices. Limestone soil imparts beautiful minerality that is balanced. A long lasting finish provides a finale that will make you reach for another glass.
