DuMol's Viognier is one of the most alluring white wines we've tasted!
A wine typically reserved for some of the finest restaurants from New York to San Francisco, we're putting extra emphasis on how dazzled we are by this white!
When we met with winemaker and DuMol partner, Andy Smith, we tasted the line-up of DuMol's Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and this very special Viognier. All were stunning, and all will seasonally rotate through the store.
The wines in the line-up had a more elegant and sophisticated expression than in years past. But, the one we couldn't stop reaching for was this irresistible Viognier.
DuMol's "Lia" Viognier is the winery's smallest production wine with a mere 300 cases made. It boasts beautiful aromatics of honeysuckle, white blossom, white nectarine and minerals. With savory green olive and sage edges, the clean finish has notes of grapefruit peel and bright acidity. A beautifully complex wine! This is how the best Viognier from the Rhone drinks - balanced, not extracted, and utterly mouth-watering.
We can't think of one dish to avoid when pairing this absolute wonder. We recommend seafood, seasonal vegetables, sushi, and the list goes on.
Like all great whites, "don’t serve this too cold." Andy Smith, DuMol
