La Spinetta's "Lidia" Chardonnay is a "Limited Edition" Piedmont white and an Englewood Wine Merchants exclusive offering. Today's feature, the 2016, is the new release of this highly sought after wine.

This is the most exclusive wine we offer each year. With more and more of the estate's prized Chardonnay grapes going into Spinetta's Contratto sparkling wine and even more being consumed locally at Spinetta's restaurant, Ape, it is no wonder that a mere 25 cases are imported.

Refined, Textured and Well-Structured.

Lidia has the weight of a Meursault, the spine of a Chablis, and a hint of nut and spice. It is layered and complex and should really have "Montrachet" written on its label.

White blossom, young d'Anjou pear, lemon oil, white peach, white pepper, a stony backbone, and a zingy, mouthwatering finish. The beauty of this white is its creamy texture and opposing frame of penetrating minerality and complexity.

From the exceptional 2016 vintage, this particular Piedmont release is outstanding!

With only 250 cases made for the world and 180 of those cases being consumed at the winery's restaurant, you can understand why this wine is in such demand each year.
