The new vintage of Leviathan has just arrived!
Screaming Eagle, at $2,000 per bottle, may be one of the most elusive and collectible domestic California Cabernets.
Andy Erickson, Screaming Eagle's former winemaker, knows this and has created a "Baby Eagle," his own personal project for immediate enjoyment, called Leviathan.
For years, we have been a fan of the plush fruit of Leviathan allowing for approachability in its youth without sacrificing balanced structure or depth.
Aromatics of cigar box, brambly fruit and cacao jump from the glass. Hedonistic, lush fruit on the palate reveals flavors of black cherries and anise, and cocoa with savory tannins and a full, lingering finish.
Sourced from some of the most coveted vineyards in California, Leviathan showcases the best characteristics of another sensational vintage, 2014.
This Baby Eagle is more than just a personal project; with so little available, it is quickly becoming a cult Cabernet.
"One of the best values out of California." Antonio Galloni
