THE REVIEW

We'll tell you who the winemaker is in a minute.... but, this is a wine you need to buy by the case!
From Monday night meatloaf to fusilli Friday to a comforting glass by itself, the 2015 Conti di San Bonifacio Monteregio Riserva is perfect for every occasion.
A kaleidoscope of flavors abound in this Tuscany beauty: Red currant, black cherry, and plush compote provide warming fruit notes on the palate. Dusty tannins give great texture and grip to this silky Sangiovese. A bit of spice on the long finish is oh so nice!
Who is the winemaker?
Drumroll please... Luca d'Attoma! Making some of the greatest wines in Italy, Luca is best known for Tua Rita, in particular Tua Rita's Redigaffi, which boasts a price tag of $275 per bottle. How did Count Monfredo join forces with such a winemaking powerhouse? They are friends for starters, but Luca recognized something special about the rustic setting among the olive groves and vines with never ending hilltop views of the countryside. The terroir is literally heaven on earth.
We couldn't resist featuring the newly released 2015 vintage - an amazing vintage throughout Europe!
