THE REVIEW

Asking why everyone loves Sancerre is a lot like asking, "why do people love ice cream?" It's cool, it's refreshing, it makes you feel great and you always want more.
Though it doesn't come with sprinkles and may not pair with chocolate fudge, it does pair amazingly well with your favorite summertime activities. Sitting on the porch during sunset with goat cheese? Done. Spending a weekend at the beach? Absolutely. Hosting or attending a pool party? Yes please. And if that's not enough, image the fine, chalky limestone soil of the Loire Valley and the Loire River that bisects this magical area. Add the famous "caillotte” rocks of the region and you'll understand why Jean-Max Roger's Sancerre stands out for its zesty fruit and amazing freshness.
(And by the way, if you've never enjoyed a Sancerre rosé - which is Pinot Noir based - Roger's Cuvee La Grange Dimiere Rosé is sensational!)
Though his Sancerre may be cellared for up to 5 years, why wait? We love this Sauvignon Blanc now because it best showcases its amazing freshness. "Light yellow.     Just like ice-cream, one glass is never enough. Enjoy as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to the bounty of the sea including crustaceans, shellfish, oysters and fish. And the classic pairing? Goat cheese!Read More »
