Something magical is happening at the Montalbera winery. With consecutive 99 point reviews, the quality of Montalbera's Laccento is undeniable.
Having a barbecue? Laccento is your answer. Having dinner with the boss? You guessed it, Laccento. Having grilled salmon, roasted chicken, or simply charcuterie? Laccento. Having a few friends over who always seem to show-off their prized Barolos and Barbarescos? Throw down a bottle of Laccento and smile knowing it costs as much as their corks!
Laccento is essentially the winery's "Riserva" bottling of Ruche. Ruche is the smallest production Italian red wine grape in all of Italy. Predominately grown in Piedmont, imagine it as the love-child between Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir. Perfect for this time of year, Ruche has the finesse of Pinot Noir and the structure of Nebbiolo. However, its distinct finish can only come from Piedmont, which is what gives this Ruche its panache.
Amazing strawberry and raspberry accents lead to a sublime core of black currants. With volume and depth, the wine has wonderful, luscious fruit of crushed wild berries and cherry with dried roses and violets. There's sweet spice on the backend with clove on the palate.
Once you taste a Ruche, you will never forget the experience. "Nothing is easier than falling in love with Ruche." Luca Maroni
