“Our #2 Wine of 2020!”

Silky From Start To Finish, Arista Pinot Takes #2

By David Gettenberg

Silky.  Velvety.  Captivating.  Inviting.

The 2017 Arista Russian River Pinot Noir is simply gorgeous.

More Burgundian in style than your typical California Pinot Noir, we were floored by the grace, lift, and balance of this rare Russian River red.

Noticeably translucent on the edges, this delicious wine has a light red hue, which adds to its grace.  The wine glides on the palate like pure silk while retaining its vibrancy and succulent finish.  It invites you back for another sip over and over again with cool, wild cherries, cranberry, dried herbs, black olives, and forest floor.  Perfectly balanced, it has tangy, uplifting acidity that seems endless.  Wow!

This red is the purest Pinot Noir we've tasted all year.

It drinks llike an aged Grand Cru red Burgundy with its balance and depth.  Incredibly complex and exquisitely expressive, this Arista release is mandatory for domestic Pinot and red Burgundy aficionados.

Drinking beautifully now, be sure you have enough to last you through its decade-long drinking window.

That's ten years of pure Pinot pleasure.

Enjoy!

“Lots of spice, forest floor, earth, and bouquet garni.”

Jeb Dunnuck • 94 / 100

"Moving to the reds, the 2017 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley was all destemmed (as are all the Pinot Noirs here) and was brought up 11 months in just 20% new French oak. Its ruby/plum and translucent hue is followed by a savory nose of mulled black cherry and currant fruits interwoven with lots of spice, forest floor, earth, and bouquet garni. Textured and medium-bodied, with good acidity and great balance, I suspect it's going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and should have a decade or more of overall longevity."

“A long, rich finish that features a savory focus.”

Wine Spectator • 93 / 100

"Well-structured, with notes of underbrush to the burnished dried cherry and berry flavors. Minerally midpalate, revealing a long, rich finish that features a savory focus. Powerful yet elegant. Drink now through 2025."
