Who is behind Le Merle Blanc de Chateau Clarke?
The Rothschild Family of Chateau Lafite.
In 1971, Baron Edmond de Rothschild fell in love with Chateau Clarke and purchased the estate. A massive investment in the vineyards ensued. Ever since then, this white Bordeaux has become an icon of the region and home to some of finest Sauvignon Blanc in the world.
Fresh. Pure. Sophisticated.
Notes of white peach, lime-leaf, green apple, stone fruit, bees wax, lychee, and blanched almond ride the palate with outstanding acidity and a zesty structure that braces you for the next sip. With exceptional length and texture on the backend, the wine dances on the palate for minutes.
A classic white Bordeaux blend, the wine is mostly Sauvignon Blanc with a bit of Semillon and dash of Muscat to add complexity and round out the hard citrus edges of the Sauvignon Blanc grape.
Enjoy this delicious white all year long with seafood, white meat and goat cheese. With Spring a few short weeks away, this Bordeaux Blanc is the perfect seasonal segue.
