Forget $60. Forget $50. You can even forget $40!
This is the best thirty-something Napa Cabernet we have tasted in years - and we have tasted quite a bit of Cali Cab.
With prices in Napa still on the rise, Stack House is an "under-the-radar" standout... and we hope it stays that way!
Jeb Dunnuck once called Stack House "a killer value in Napa Valley Cabernet."
Indeed it is - especially when you read below who is behind this rock-star red.
Stack House explodes out of the glass with ripe fruit and highlights of blackberry, cassis, mocha, black currant, blueberries, and clove. Though rich, textured and opulent, the mouth-feel is sublime. Secondary notes of dark chocolate, clove spice, black pepper and black cherry are interlaced with toasty oak.
Who Is Behind This Hidden Gem?
Husband and wife team Anna and Mario Monticelli. Anna worked harvest at Cheval Blanc, was the former assistant winemaker at Bryant Family and winemaker at Piña. Her husband, Mario, spent time at Antinori and has worked at Quintessa and Hundred Acre. That is a well-rounded bio for both!
Crafted for early consumption but with the ability to age for another 7 years, this is a hidden gem and one to buy by the case(s).
