From a wedge of Pecorino, to a slice of pizza, to a twirl of fresh pasta with wild game ragu, you cannot go wrong with the 2018 Valdifalco Morellino di Scansano.
What is a Morellino?
Morellino is the name of the Sangiovese grape grown in the Tuscan town of Scansano (thus, Morellino di Scansano).
The Valdifalco vineyards are located near the sea, in the middle of the "Parco dell Uccellina" in Maremma. These bio-dynamically farmed vineyards produce Sangiovese with delicious ripe cherry, currant and blackberry flavors. With secondary notes of plum and raspberry, the wine offers great minerality and a long finish with silky tannins.
