It has taken decades of trial and error, but I have finally mastered my New Year's resolutions.
It’s simple, really. No more resolutions!
Tethered to a watch that counts my steps, restricting desserts, no more warm bread dipped in olive oil - it’s enough to drive me batty.
For those brave individuals still dedicated to starting 2023 eating only salads and fish, we have a wine pairing for you!
Jobard's Bourgogne Blanc Vieille Vignes (old vines) is one of Burgundy's hidden treasures. If you were to blind-taste this Chardonnay, you would be captivated by its classic Meursault profile of pear, lemon zest, green apple, white peach, orange oil, and white flower. A hint of roasted nut and chalk provide a bit of weight and texture. The wine is absolutely delicious!
What We Love About Jobard's Bourgogne Blanc
Jobard produces seven Meursault cuvees of which three are 1er Cru. Most of the Chardonnay in this Bourgogne Blanc borders the 1er Cru "Charmes" vineyard within Meursault. It is literally a stone's throw away and can be measured in inches.
Locals tend to snatch up all that is available with very little making its way out of France. And by the way, this beautiful Chardonnay also happens to be certified organic.
Regardless of whether I make a 2023 resolution, I’ll be enjoying this glorious baby Meursault while the vintage lasts.
Enjoy!
