How good is the Hourglass "Estate" Sauvignon Blanc?

Many fine Sauvignon Blancs are produced in Bordeaux and Sancerre; even California has a few standouts.  But at home, there are always a few bottles of Hourglass chilled and ready to serve!

Imagine taking the chalky, white flour notes of Sancerre and blending them with Bordeaux Blanc's integrated, expressive fruit and dry, limestone accents.

The entry is refreshing and vibrant. A mid-palate of minerality is followed by white flower, lemon zest, green apple, young melon, a dash of almond, grapefruit rind, and white peach.  For those in the know, this white is rapidly becoming a favorite over some very prominent California brands.  Unfiltered, its fine chalky texture offers one of the most mouthwatering sensations we've ever experienced in a Sauvignon Blanc.
