ERMACORA

Friuli-Collio

Italy

[91 pts The Merchant's Mark]

Varietal(s):
100% Pinot Grigio

Tasting Notes:

Ermacora is a Pinot Grigio standout with all estate grown fruit - very rare for a Pinot Grigio. It is a multi-layered wine revealing citrus on the nose but on the palate has dimensions of green apple, pear, white peach and dried flowers. When young, this wine is a pleasure for its vibrant acidity and minerality. You will love its dry, zesty finish. No wood intervention. Perfect for paninis, pesto, charcuterie on the patio, and seafood.

ERMACORA, Pinot Grigio
Pure Pinot Grigio | Wine Over Water!

— SHIPPING NOW —

($17.95 per bottle / $215.40 per case) You will never drink Santa Margherita again! I hope we are not offending anyone who buys it buy the case, but when you taste this classic white from Friuli, you may ask yourself, "Have I been drinking wine or water?"
    Rare for Pinot Grigio, Ermacora is all estate grown fruit. Why is this significant? The mass-production blending process of the larger houses kills the grape. It masks the imperfections of the lesser quality fruit at the same time diluting some of the best attributes of this classic Italian varietal. As a third generation family-owned winery, Ermacora utilizes sustainable farming practices and no oak influence to deliver the purest form of this varietal.
    From a fantastic vintage, Ermacora is a multi-layered wine revealing citrus on the nose, yet on the palate has dimensions of green apple, pear, white peach and dried flowers. You simply don't get this elegance and grace in your by-the-glass pour. And, if you look closely, you may notice an exotic pink-grey hue around the golden color of this beauty. That's because unadulterated Pinot Grigio is a white grape with greyish skin.
    When young, this wine is a pleasure for its vibrant acidity and minerality. Age it for several years, if you choose, and it will evolve with rich texture. You will love its dry, zesty finish. It is perfect for paninis, pesto, charcuterie on the patio, and seafood.
