The oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines on the planet are located on the south-facing ridge of "La Moussiere."

La Moussiere is the cornerstone of the Alphone Mellot domaine, which is now in its 19th successive generation of winemaking.   

All farming is organic and certified biodynamic with a focus on low yields and ideal ripeness.

Ethereal is not a word we often use to describe a Sauvignon Blanc, but we couldn't resist for this superbly elegant Sancerre.

Citrus fruit and soft spices lead to flinty, limestone minerality which frames this wonderful white.  The finish is long and endless.  Lively, supple lemon-lime accents are followed by a touch of white pepper.  Pure.  Chalky.  Dry.  Delicious!

Here are just a few delicacies that pair with La Moussiere: tuna tartare, mussels "à la Charentaise", chanterelle mushroom omelettes, baked Norway lobsters, raw oysters, braised ham with white sauce, Chavignol goat's milk cheeses, and puff pastries.
