Gorgeous, simply gorgeous.
At this price, you will be hard-pressed to find a better Rhone red that delivers this much character, power and finesse.
A must have!
Not yet ready for Jaboulet's highly collectible 100 point, 2015 Hermitage, "La Chapelle" at $279 per bottle?
Well, you can get close, very close with Jaboulet's 2015 "Domaine de Thalabert" Crozes-Hermitage.
Because the region of Crozes-Hermitage sits at the base of the famous Hermitage slopes, Crozes-Hermitage wines are often considered to be a "Baby Hermitage." But, in an outstanding vintage like 2015, this wine is no baby! "The 2015 reds from the Northern Rhône are truly spectacular." The Wine Advocate
What do we love about this wine? Besides sitting directly below the aforementioned "La Chapelle" vineyard, we were taken by the wine's sun-baked earth, dried bramble, cassis, dark berry, black olives, and flinty mineral driven undertones. Layered and luscious!
Purchased in 1834, "Domaine de Thalabert" is the oldest vineyard of the appellation. It is considered the benchmark for Crozes-Hermitage.
Enjoy it now; you can even age this wine for decades if you choose.
We recommend doing both!

“The finest vintage to date, better even than the stellar 2010, the 2015 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine De Thalabert is a gorgeous, deep, layered, and incredibly satisfying Crozes. Blackcurrants, olive tapenade, truffles and earthy notes all emerge from this full-bodied, gorgeously textured and seamless 2015. With fine tannin and no hard edge, it can be drunk today or cellaring for 15-20 years.”

"The 2015 Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert is a big, serious, full-bodied effort that’s reminiscent of a slightly softer version of the 2010. Scorched earth, black fruits, cassis, black olive and a hint of graphite all emerge from this sensational Crozes Hermitage.”
