Bel Air de Siran, Bordeaux
Who has time to wait these days? In a world of technology and information inundation, the art of patience is waning. That's why we are so excited about this Bordeaux library release of the 2007 Bel Air de Siran from Haut-Medoc, which has a decade of bottle age!
Very few wine lovers have the time, patience or inclination to wait for a wine to evolve. Though most wines are enjoyed "young" and are quite enjoyable at an early stage of development, few people get to experience what an aged and well-integrated wine tastes like - especially at this price point.
Today, you don't have to wait and you certainly don't have to cellar this Bordeaux beauty - although you could for another five years - to enjoy a deliciously aged Bordeaux.
Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this Bordeaux blend has silky fruit, soft acidity and beautifully integrated tannins. It has an expressive nose of cedar, dried violets, wild berries, spice, underbrush and mild vanilla. The palate shows harmonious notes of red cherry and black fruits with hints of plum. But, the real show-stopper is the integration of its core elements, something you just can't find in a young wine.
From a mere 3 acres (minuscule by even Bordeaux standards), this wine is a second property of Chateau Siran of Margaux. Extremely limited.
