What do we love about this wine?

The 2010 Opus threads the needle between the finest qualities of Bordeaux and California Cabernet-based reds. Rich, ripe blackberry and dark currant intermingle with violets, truffle, and spice. It has grip and texture yet is smooth and silky. With eight years of age, it can be enjoyed now or easily cellared for another decade.

Don't miss out. We expect this library release to
sell out rather quickly.

Difficult to get in any vintage, this library release is a rare show-stopper from one of California's most iconic wineries.

$499.95 per bottle / $5999.40 per case

97 / 100

"The 2010 Opus One has become incredibly elegant and polished over the last year, while retaining its power, structure and intensity. Explosive throughout, the 2010 is every bit as compelling as it has always been. Hints of rose petal, violets, lavender and mint add nuance as the wine turns a bit brighter and more floral over time. Readers who can be patient will be rewarded with a fabulous wine, but the 2010 is pretty hard to resist, even today. This is yet another terrific showing from the 2010."

2013 TOP 100, RANK #30

"The 2010 Opus One is an absolutely sensational wine. It brings intoxicating aromas of ripe blackberries and dark currant fruit followed by Asian spices, herbs and graphite which weave their way through the wine. It has a wonderful silky texture that is well structured, demonstrating remarkable depth and balance. Everything is wrapped up with a long lingering finish that leaves behind flavors of graphite and dark fruits. It is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon 84%, Cabernet Franc 5.5%, Merlot 5.5%, Petit Verdot 4% and Malbec 1%. Winemaker Michael Silacci did a phenomenal job with this 2010, this is the best Opus in the last decade and is a clear demonstration of what Opus One is all about, the vision of Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild to bring together the styles of Bordeaux and California. (Best 2015-2030)"

97 / 100

"A harvest lasting 30 days offered structure and tannins, deep and complex fruit with earthy nuances, still bursting with energy."

96 / 100

"A glorious perfume of sweet charcoal, truffle, black currants and spice box soars from the glass of the saturated purple-colored 2010 Opus One. The gorgeous aromatics are followed by a beautifully knit, full-bodied red blend (84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5.5% Merlot, 5.5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec) displaying lots of spicy black currant fruit, medium to full body, velvety tannins, and not a hard edge to be found. The texture, length and richness are all impressive. This estate has been making great Cabernet-based wines for nearly a decade ... and this is another one. Drink it over the next 20+ years."

96 / 100

"One of the best ever from Opus, it shows beautiful blackcurrant cabernet sauvignon character. A powerful and poised wine with well-crafted tannins. Needs about four years to soften."
