We are coming to the end of a stunning Gaja vintage.
Here is a little snapshot of the 2013 vintage, a brilliant Brunello vintage:
• "a classic vintage" - Jancis Robinson
• The top 2013's are reminiscent of outstanding 2006's...vivid fruit coupled with depth..." - James Suckling
What do we love about the 2013 Gaja Brunello?
Dark berry fruit, aromas of orange peel, cedar, truffles and spice. This Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello is a blend of the estate's finest single vineyard fruit, namely, Rennina and Sugarille. It culls some of the best attributes of these single vineyards in one cuvee. Fluid, long and beautifully integrated, the wine is amazing now but will only improve with age.
It's so good, we have it available in three sizes:
Ripe fruit, depth, and structure for aging.... That is the fine line between the iconic 2010's and the 2013's. The 2013's have the best of both worlds: ageability and youthful approachability.
Rivaling the 2010 vintage, the 2013 Brunello vintage is brilliant. Dark berry fruit, aromas of orange peel, cedar, truffles and spice. Like previous Gaja Brunellos, the wine is extremely polished with compact, velvety tannins. Approachable yet ageworthy, this Gaja is fantastic. If Gaja is not part of your cellar, it should be. Enjoy!
