BY "THE PRISONER" FOUNDER, DAVID PHINNEY
The wait is over!
Long story short - a few years ago, The Prisoner brand was sold. As a condition of the sale, David Phinney, The Prisoner creator, was precluded from making predominantly Zinfandel wines - until now.
Free to compete, Phinney reminds us that very few winemakers blend as artfully as he does in the 2015 Disciples by The Crane Assembly. The 2014 Disciples, the previous and inaugural vintage, received 95 pts from Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.
Don’t wait for the press on the 2015...it’s really good!
From only 65 barrels, this is an extremely limited Zinfandel!
Perfect for the July 4th weekend, this lusciious red will be right at home with all of your favorite grilled fare.
Unique aromas of stone, brambly fruit, mixed berry cobbler, forest floor and smoke open from the glass. Black plums and boysenberry compote carry through to the palate; that is lush, rich, big and brawny. The finish is lingering and persistent and the wine is definitely seductive - and limited.
