Feudo Montoni, Nero d'Avola
Reserve yours today!
We first featured this Sicilian stunner last year. We sold through every bottle of the 2014 and more; we now have a waiting list for the upcoming 2015 vintage. We said then and we'll say it again: In a few years, you are going to look back and say, "I remember when this wine was only 16 bucks!"
At 600 feet above sea level, this stunning Sicilian red is elegant and refined - not jammy like many of the lowland Nero d'Avolas made today. And, the topography of the vineyards is a virtual sanctuary surround by miles of wheat fields preserving the integrity of these organic vines. In fact, many producers in the region have asked the winery for cuttings to use in their own vineyards!
We love this wine and can’t get enough! It is versatile and loaded with flavor. It is perfect for Tuesday nights with a wedge of hard cheese or grab it and go with confidence to your favorite Saturday BYOB. If you missed the previous vintage or our more collectible Passorosso Sicilian offering, don't miss this beautiful, everyday Sicilian red, which you should by buy the case.
Complex aromas of fruit and spices are in harmony with an intoxicating hint of cinnamon on the backend - perfect for this time of year. This impeccable Sicilian red has notes of menthol and fresh dark cherry on the palate. Strawberry, fig and dried plum are balanced by a dash of spice. No oak, this wine is pure and delicious!
Pair with wild boar ragu, fire-grilled pizza with smoked mozzarella, eggplant caponata, or simply dip with your favorite olive oil and crusty bread combination. Did we mention you should buy this by the case?!

"Perfumed nose of violets and plum. Then silky tannins nicely frame the ripe, suave red and blue fruit flavors which showcase lovely inner-mouth perfume. Closes very long with outstanding delineation, delightful acid-fruit-tannin balance, and penetrating violet nuances. A knockout Vigna Lagnusa, one of the best vintages of this wine ever."

As with the prior vintage, the 2015 Feudo Montoni Nero d'Avola does not conquer with strength, but with elegance. We're seeing some really nice consistency from this winery. Complex aromas of fruit and spices are in harmony with an intoxicating hint of cinnamon on the backend. This impeccable Sicilian red has notes of menthol and fresh dark cherry on the palate. Strawberry, fig and dried plum are balanced by a dash of spice. No oak, this wine is pure and delicious! It is velvety and laced with just the right amount of tannin. We were incredibly impressed with this Sicilian stunner that can take you from Saturday night dinners are your favorite BYOB to Tuesday night's with just a wedge of cheese.
