Talk about a second act!
Last year, Austin Hope's inaugural release was our fastest selling Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Enthusiast published their highest score ever for a Paso Robles Cabernet with that wine.
But, the proof is in the pudding!
Nearly everyone who tries Austin Hope orders it again... and again!
The 2016 Austin Hope is the winery's second release and another stunning, decadent red. If this were a Napa Cabernet it would retail for $150. But then again, if it were from Napa, it wouldn't have the Paso Robles terroir or charm of "cloves, nutmeg, and vanilla and a long, smooth, tannin-soaked finish." Robb Report, November 2017
Rich aromas of black currants, ripe black cherries and blackberries with notes of violets, mocha and dried spices. This is a big, modern-styled wine with velvety tannins, gobs of fruit and accents of cedar, clove and vanilla bean. Full bodied and balanced by fresh acidity, this robust wine has a firm, polished tannin structure.
Paso Robles, one of California’s most pastoral wine growing regions, translates to “Passageway of Oaks,” where majestic trees outline the landscape. At 2,000 feet, the Cabernet vineyards possess a micro-climate of warm days and cool evenings chilled by a breeze from the Pacific just 18 miles to the west "allowing fruit to ripen into luxurious richness."
It is worth highlighting the quality coming from Paso Robles in recent years. "These top-quality releases are a match for the best wines from California’s North Coast.” The Wine Advocate
This is the perfect Cabernet to enjoy with burgers, steak, and the bounty of flavors from grilled food.
