I was introduced to Terre di Tufi fourteen years ago and have been a fan ever since.
On that night, a wedge of Parmigiano cheese preceded the most incredible grilled swordfish I have ever enjoyed.
Was it the wine?
To this day I am convinced it was! From that first encounter to today, I am always amazed at how versatile this sub-twenty Tuscan white reveals qualities that are typically found in wines twice its price.
Year after year, Terre di Tufi is among my go-to white wines for almost any occasion. A household name for locals, it is a beautiful blend of Vernaccia, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from the hills of Tuscany, and more specifically, the famous town of San Gimignano.
With notes of young apple, peach and pineapple, it is full bodied with a pleasant yet subtle toasty almond finish. The Vernaccia offsets the Chardonnay fruit with youthful and well-balanced acidity and a brightness that makes this Terre di Tufi one of the most enjoyable whites of Italy.
Terre di Tufi is the original "White Super Tuscan." You can enjoy it now and over the next 3 years.
