A True Story
I am reminded every Spring about my first encounter with this delicious rosé.
I was enjoying dinner at a local restaurant and could not put this wine down. After finishing the bottle, I turned to the waiter to order another. He leaned forward and whispered, "Sir, you brought the wine...this is a BYOB."
I so thoroughly enjoyed this rosé, I simply forgot!
Fast forward to today:
Nature meets agriculture in this picturesque setting. With 100 acres dedicated to grapevines and 40 to olive trees, the Leoube winery calls itself "organic artisans by the sea."
Delicious fruit delivers exotic aromas, which include rosemary, white heather, sage, myrtle and marine lavender. Sexy aromas of raspberry and blood orange are lifted by a strong, chalky mineral drawn from the schist and clay soil. Finishes long, with resonating mineral and spring floral aromas.
While there are many quality rosés on the market today, few evoke the feeling of afternoons by the sea more than Chateau Leoube's Secret de Leoube.

"The terrific 2017 Cotes de Provence Rose Secret de Leoube is a blend of 40% each Grenache and Cinsault, plus 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. It lacks any of the overt herbal notes often found in Cabernet rosés, instead offering hints of crushed stone, orange rind and dried spices. It's medium-bodied, plump and round (it undergoes malolactic fermentation) and finishes long, with notes of spice and garrigue."
