How good is Hourglass Sauvignon Blanc?
Well, we really like Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc, but at home we serve Hourglass!
This is no ordinary California Sauvignon Blanc; rather, it drinks more like a white Bordeaux with its texture and integrated, expressive fruit.
We've featured Hourglass Sauvignon Blanc in previous vintages and the waiting list for this summer sipper is getting larger with every change of season. Once you taste it for yourself, you will be hooked as well.
Every Spring, we receive a tiny amount of this fantastic white. A dry mid-palate of minerality with a touch of vanilla bean and a dash of almond, grapefruit rind and white peach separates Hourglass from the pack. Unfiltered, its fine chalky texture offers one of the most mouthwatering sensations we've ever experienced in a Sauvignon Blanc.
What's on the menu with this stunner?
Certainly the classic pairing of seafood, however, we suggest roasted corn, goat cheese atop arugula salad, or sweet potato gnocchi drizzled with browned sage butter.
You may have heard of the Hourglass Winery. Their blockbuster Cabernets have a cult-like following. Their Sauvignon Blanc (in only its 5th release) is every bit as special.
